Serijal Bunker: Zorkovac
Just so that in the New year we have even a small adventure, we decided to visit the bunker in Zorkovac. The day before, returning from the New Year’s from Fužine via the old road to Delnice, we just happened to notice the bunker along the tracks of the Golubinjak Forest Park. Trying to shorten the time between the New Year’s at noon and the real one at midnight, we googled the bunkers. We discovered that they were built in the period from 1941 to 1942. Many of them were built by the Italians on the railway Rijeka-Zagreb, to ensure the minimal functioning of railways and railway transport. As for the aforementioned bunker in Zorkovac, it is located next to the railway bridge. This bunker also dates back to the World War II, and the purpose of its construction was to protect the bridge on the river Kupa. The bunker itself is ina bad condition, just as the environment around it, which witnesses a lack of interest in such things of the past. Unfortunately, there’s always some wannabe adventurer, to whom a neglected building is an interesting reminder of the past times.
