I’m writing late again, but there it is. This fall, like each and every other, we went to the traditional motorcycle blessing in Bedekovčina. It is the official closing of the season, but this nice weather will still allow for several hundreds kilometres more.

This blessing was very special to me, but I will leave the reason for myself. On Sunday, at eight o’clock in the morning, finally all together, we departed for Bedekovčina. The surprisingly high morning temperature made the ride a little more pleasant than last year, when we froze in the rain and just a few degrees above zero. This fall was the exact opposite, it was sunny and hot.

We arrived in Bedekovčina after cca two hours, and the temperature rose to unusual values for this time of year. Of course, shortly after arrival, we were already hungry so we set the table, so to speak. This time, GS functioned as the table. Čvarci, the sausages, the cheese, the salami and other things completed our ‘Bedekovčanian’ tradition. After a nice breakfast it was time to go for a walk and buy traditional products.

Because of the wonderful weather, there were more bikers than ususal. There’s always a few thousand bikers, but this time it really was an incredible lot of people, and there was almost no place left to park your bike. Everyone wanted their bikes to sunbathe and get blessed in order to to be ready for the next season.

After the blessing we were slowly preparing and waiting for our turn to leave. Several thousand bikers poured from Bedekovčina, and we were among them. It was wonderful, like every time, to participate in the blessing, and I am particularly glad that this original blessing in Bedekovčina has turned into a great event where bikers come from all over Croatia and beyond.

Until the spring blessing, we put the bikes in the garage, but not for the winter, as time has allowed a few more rides. There are other activities in the winter, but I must admit that we are already eagerly awaiting the next biking season, new miles and visiting new places!
